Being a Realtor can be very rewarding. You get to help people with a transaction that is more than likely the largest purchase in their lifetime. Navigating through the challenges that arise in a transaction and having the answers to solve those challenges is very exciting. Most of all though, you get to meet really cool people and even become very good friends with some.
The last time I checked with our association of Realtors in the Magic Valley we had right around 660 licensed Realtors in our area. That is the highest amount that I have seen in my career. What that means is that the market is very competitive and like building any business, it takes time. As a Realtor you have costs in doing business anywhere from dues, classes, office expenses, vehicle expenses, marketing costs and many other ancillary expenses that add up. These costs happen regardless of whether you sell anything or not. There will be late nights, uninterrupted personal and family time due to buyer’s and seller’s needs during their transaction.
I want to tell you how rewarding it can be when you get to the closing table and you see happiness and smiles on your client’s faces. There is nothing like completing a transaction and having that sense of accomplishment and knowing that you helped someone through their journey in life through real estate. We are blessed to call Idaho home. We are truly surrounded by some amazing people in our communities.
