“Top 5 Local Businesses I Love”

Written By Payson Bedke

When asked what are the top 5 local businesses that I love, I figured this would be an easy article to write. The trouble comes when highlighting only 5 of those.  One of the main reasons I love Twin Falls, and what keeps me from leaving, is the community involvement. Any time the town is hit with any form of hardship you see all these local businesses come together to raise money and awareness, and it truly is something special. I wish I could write an article to include every local business in town, but I am going to highlight 5 local businesses that everyone in town should try out

1.AWOL Adventure Sports
AWOL Adventure Sports is a full-service scuba diving shop, zip line course and kayak rental company in Twin Falls, Idaho. If you are new to Twin Falls or have not been here long, I would highly recommend checking this place out! The zip line course is located down in the canyon by Centennial Park as well as in the summer you can rent kayaks and paddleboards and cruise along the Snake River.

2.Elevation 486
I honestly don’t know if you can have lunch or dinner with a better view than what Elevation 486 has to offer. A restaurant located on the canyon rim that sits 486 feet above the Snake River. This is one of my favorite places to go to enjoy lunch or a cold beverage and sit on the patio and overlook the canyon!

3.Perrine Man Press
Perrine Man Press is a locally owned clothing store here in Twin Falls that has some of the slickest clothing that represents the beautiful area that we live in. The store is run by a husband and wife where they design and craft all the work right in the store. I personally have bought a lot of hats and t-shirts from this shop, and I promise you that you can’t find anything like this husband-and-wife team!

4.Bearded Axe
Having a stressful day? Head over to Bearded Axe, pick out a lane, and start throwing axes at a target! This is a business that Twin Falls has needed for a long time! I have been there multiple times now and I can honestly say there is nothing better than getting a group of friends together and go throw some axes! No, having a beard and wearing a flannel shirt are not required, but definitely makes you look cooler while you throw!

5.Canyon Springs Golf Course
I love when I have family and friends from out of state visit, and we take a day to golf at Canyon Springs Golf Course. I get the same reaction every time “you guys are so lucky to have this course in your backyard.”  You can’t find a better public golf course that will give you the views that Canyon Springs has to offer.

Whether you are new to the area, visiting, or have already called Twin Falls “home” make sure you stop in and visit these local businesses! It’s unfortunate I was only able to write on 5 of them, because Twin Falls has so much more to offer. If you find yourself bored on a Saturday afternoon, take a walk down Main St and see what this town has to offer!
